New England Cemetery, Washington County, Nebraska

Also known as Fletcher or Baptist Cemetery. Across the road from the New England Baptist Church, a cemetery was formed early. A cemetery association had been formed and families could buy lots for $10 each. It is still neatly kept by the side of the New England road, six miles west of Herman, with its prominent pioneer names: Fletcher, Coupal, Van Valin, Cameron, Gossard and others.
