Keith McManigal, 77

Funeral services for Keith McManigal, 77, who died October 9, 1992 in Omaha, Nebraska, were held Monday, October 12 at the Boyd E. Brehman Funeral Home in Omaha. Burial was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Howard Bailey officiating.

Keith McManigal was born January 16, 1915 at Blair to Joe and Bertha Jane Dulaney McManigal.

Prior to World War II, Keith worked in construction. On December 9, 1941 Keith joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving from 1942 until 1944, participating in action against the Japanese. In 1947 he re-enlisted with the Marines and served this tour of duty in the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion Hain-Flynn Post #154, the Teamsters Union Local #554, and was past commander of both the VFW Post #1251 in Blair and the Nebraska VFW District No. 7. He was a long-time city driver for Navajo Freight Lines in Omaha.

On April 17, 1948 he married Gayle Dearman. She preceded him in death.

He had lived in Waterloo, Nebraska for the last 25 years.

He is survived by foster children Lorraine Quinn, Glenn Guyett, Mary Rose Gamerl, Diane Liemer, Gayle Workman; sisters Jane Rolan, Des Moines and Dorothy McDonald of Blair; one brother, Joe McManigal of Blair; 11 nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of friends.
