Kathrine Cook, 92, formerly of Arlington, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., after a short illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Rick Kanoy officiating.

Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Cook was almost a resident of North Palm Beach, Fla., but always a Nebraskan, and a Cornhuskers fan.

Kathrine “Kay” was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Arlington, to George and Norma Rosenkilde.

She lived in Nebraska until 1946 when she married Lee Cutchall.

As his Navy career progressed, they lived all over the United States, Japan and England, and traveled to many other countries. As a caterer for more than 40 years, she worked in many locales, including McLean, Va., Washington, D.C., Port Orchard, Wash., and Arlington. She never gave up her love of cooking. In 1987, she returned to live full time in Arlington. She married Joe Cook in April 1989.

She was an active longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington, and was a life or permanent member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies of the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a member of 40 & 8. For many years, she volunteered countless hours to these and other community organizations. She was a frequent attendee at the Arlington Senior Center where she participated in many of its activities.

She is survived by daughter Margo Caldy-Krakow; son-in-law Dennis Krakow; son James Cutchall and his wife Guana; granddaughters Jamie Taylor and Kimberly Cutchall; one great-granddaughter, Olivia; son George Cutchall and grandson Lee; brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Dorothy Martin; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Norma Rosenkilde; her brother, “Buster” Rosenkilde; sister-in-law Sis Rosenkilde; and husbands, Lee Cutchall and Joseph Cook.

Instead of flowers, her family would appreciate it if donations are made to the memorials that have been established at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Arlington Multipurpose Senior Center, P.O. Box 424, Arlington, NE 68002.
