Minnie Elizabeth McManigal

Minnie E. McManigal, age 80, of Yankton, South Dakota and formerly of Tekamah, passed away on Thursday evening, May 26, 1988 at Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton after a lengthy illness.

Minnie was born on May 9, 1908 at Fairfield, Nebraska to Frank and Louella (Modlin) Fowler. She was united in marriage to Harland C. McManigal on May 29, 1927 at Blair, Nebraska. The couple lived in and near Tekamah for most of their lives, and moved to Yankton in 1976

. Mr. McManigal passed away on April 13, 1978. Minnie was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge at Tekamah and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

Survivors include three daughters: Pauline LaScala of Sioux City, Iowa, Mary Ann Kastner of Fallon, Nevada, and Patricia Kruse of Yankton, South Dakota; two sons, Jack McManigal of Omaha and Arthur McManigal of Tyndall, South Dakota; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Luke Fowler of Atkinson, Nebraska and Everett Fowler of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three sisters: Annabelle Klinger of Ramsey, Minnesota, and Elsie Palmantier and Margaret Vaughn, both of Tekamah.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 31, 1988 at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah with Rev. Victor Crawford officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
