Mary Evelyn Chickinell, 96

Mary Evelyn Chickinell, 96, of Fort Calhoun, died Monday, April 7, 2014, in Fort Calhoun.

A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun.

Mary Evelyn Cronan was born March 29, 1918, in Lincoln, to William Leo and Vera Mae (Cole) Cronan.

She grew up in Ralston.

She is survived by daughter Marilyn J. (Paul M.) Cerio of Fort Calhoun; son Eugene C. Chickinell Jr. of Brookings, Ore.; daughter Julie M. Haney of Papillion; sister Margaret Fleishman of Napa, Ca.; grandchildren: Christopher (Stacy) Cerio, Andrew (Jennifer) Cerio, Kerry Cerio Larimore (Tony), Matthew (Hope) Haney, Erin (Haney) Iselin (Kerry) and Megan Hensler (Ben); great-grandchildren: Daniel and Nicole Cerio, McKenna Haney, Cameron and Aiden Iselin, Raylee, Mick and Gavin Larimore, Bella and Ryder Cerio and Colin, Liam and Maggie Hensler; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Chickinell; brother and sister-in-law William F. and Elizabeth Cronan.
