Louise G. Stacy, 81, of Blair, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Colonial Manor in Randolph.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 12 p.m.

Louise G. Spanton was born April 14, 1932, in Blair to Bert W. and Martha C. (Miller) Spanton.

She was raised in Blair and graduated from Blair High School.

After graduation, she wed Carson Stacy on April 30, 1951, in Blair. The couple lived in several different states during Mr. Stacy’s time serving in the U.S. Navy. The couple later divorced.

She worked at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair for 16 years, as an activity assistant, and was very proud of never being late or absent. She was known as “The Crafty Lady” for her crocheting, crafts and baked goods. She was very proud of the awards and ribbons she had won for those skills.

She was an avid John Wayne fan. She did it her way.

She is survived by her children: Stuart (Terry) Stacy of Malvern, Iowa, Dean (Rita) Stacy and Tricia (Darren) Jones of Malvern; sister Marilyn Svendgard of Blair; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; special friends Amie and Clint Clausen and family of Randolph and Sandy and J.R. Rasmussen of Faith, S.D.; and a special group of caregivers at Colonial Manor in Randolph.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Albert “Sonny”; and grandson Shawn Scott.

Memorials may be directed to the food pantry of the donor’s choice.
