Nancy L. McMillen, 43

Nancy L. McMillen, 43, of Blair, did suddenly on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Nancy Lucille McMillen was born March 12, 1963, at eh U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, to Frank and Tsuruko Patterson. She grew up and graduated from Webb City High School in Webb City, Mo., then graduated from Draughn Business College in Joplin, Mo. After moving to Blair in 1985, she married Donald McMillen. They made their home in Blair.

She began her employment with ENCOR 13 years ago. During this time, Mrs. McMillen devoted her life to helping the developmentally disabled, welcoming them into her heart and home and becoming as much a part of their family as they became hers.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, and three children, David Wayne, Steven Kyle, and Katlyn Dawn; parents, frank and Tsuruko Patterson; three sisters, Patty Butler of Joplin, Mo., Linda Powell and Susan Patterson, both of Blair; a brother, Richard Patterson, also of Blair; two nieces, Christina Powell of Blair and Nikki Ball and nephew Jason Patterson, both of Joplin; and extended family. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Ira Patterson.
