Charles Sheets, 63, Died Suddenly at Herman Thursday

Charles Sheets, well known Herman man, died suddenly Thursday afternoon of a heart attack. He was stricken while walking on the street in downtown Herman.

Charles Raymond Sheets was born May 27, 1907 at Herman and had lived there all his life.

He was a member of the Armed Forces during World War II and returned to Herman following his tour of duty. He is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Sheets who lives in Tekamah. There are also four brothers, Earl Sheets of Herman; George, Sr., of Blair, Michael (note: there was a crease in the old newspaper, and some of the Michael was illegible), Council Bluffs; and Elmer Sheets, of Tekamah.

There are five sisters: Mrs. Grace Thielfoldt, of Tekamah; Mrs. Goldie Yowell of Herman; Mrs. Merle Jensen of Ontarie, Oregon; Mrs. Ralph Scarlett and Mrs. Roy Metzler, both of Blair.

Military services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at the Herman Baptist Church with the Rev. Zack Kleinsasser officiating. Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home will be made in the Herman Cemetery.
