Will L. Sheets, Jr., 63

Services were Wednesday, March 6 at Arlington Community Church for Will. L. Sheets, Jr., 63, of Arlington who died March 3, 1991 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Rev. Don Cassiday and Rev. John Charter officiated. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery with military graveside rites being conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8332 and the American Legion Post No. 71 of Arlington.

Will L. Sheets was born August 1, 1927 in Herman. He grew up in the Herman, Blair and Kennard areas.

He served with the United States Army February, 1946 to April, 1947 and then lived in Blair for about a year. He moved to Fremont in 1950 and to Arlington in 1962.

He was employed with Hormel for 33 years. He retired in 1984.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8332 in Arlington and the Hormel Retirees.

He married Jackie Ladd July 17, 1949 in Tekamah. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will L. and Mabel Lund Sheets and a sister, Hazel.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Rick of Ames and Will, III of Fremont; two daughters, Marcia Nickerson of Blair and Lori (Mrs. Charles) Reed of Arlington; five brothers, Harold of Arlington, Gerald of Central City; six sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. John) Loges of Magnolia, Iowa; Xona (Mrs. Walter) Groves of Arlington, Iona (Mrs. Leonard) Goreham and Inez (Mrs. Leo) Goreham, both of Fremont, Loretta (Mrs. Kenneth) Kleckner of North Bend and Dena (Mrs. Robert) Dalton of Louisiana; and nine grandchildren.

Kay Buchardt was organist; Melvin Misfeldt was soloist.

Pallbearers were Walter Groves, Lenny Goreham, Les Sheets, Rich Karickhoff, Paul Mittura and Howard Sheets. Honorary pallbearers were David Newell, Richard Melvard, August Lallman, Milton Wilcox and Duane Hilgenkamp.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
