Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, at First Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. for George S. Sheets, Sr., 81, who died July 27, 1980, at the Blair Hospital. Rev. Kurt Sortland will conduct services. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

George S. Sheets, Sr., was born October 31, 1898, in Herman to Dan and Lucy Kimball Sheets. On April 22, 1925, he married Loraine Christensen in Blair. He worked in construction during most of his life and lived in the Herman and Blair area throughout his lifetime.

One child preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Loraine Christensen of Blair; three sons, George Sheets, Jr., Clarence Sheets, and Robert Sheets, all of Blair; and three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Susie) Christensen, Mrs. Bill (Lena Mae) Williby, both of Blair, and Mrs. Jack (Nila) Haggard, Cincinnati, Ohio. One brother, Elmer Sheets, Tekamah; four sisters, Goldie Yowell, Herman, Mardelle Scarlett, Blair, Mary Jenson, Ontario, Oregon, and Dorothy Metzler, Blair, 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren also survive him.

Pallbearers for the service will be seven grandsons, Rodney Christensen, Rolin Christensen, Russell Christensen, David Sheets, Larry Sheets, Paul Sheets, Scott Sheets.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
