Services Are On Tuesday For Grace Sheets

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 3, at 10 a.m., at the Herman Legion Hall for Grace Lucile Sheets, 71, who died February 27, 1981, at her home in Herman.

Rev. Walter Millet conducted the services. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Grace Lucile Sheets was born March 17, 1909, on a farm near Wynot, Nebraska, to Charles Abner and Nellie Eliza Wilson King. She spent her early years near Wynot and then as a young girl moved with her family to the Sandhills where she grew up.

She married Floyd A. Sheets on February 21, 1928, at Kilgore, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm east of Herman where their six children were born. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and needlework.

She was baptized into the Christian Faith at three months of age. She was reared in the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd, of Herman; two sons, Dick Sheets, Tekamah, and Floyd A. Sheets of Olivenhain, California; and four daughters, Ellen (Mrs. L. Dale) Epperson of Omaha; Donna (Mrs. Roy) Schaefer of Pasadena, California; Grace (Mrs. Walt) Mitchell of Omaha; and Lela (Mrs. Richard) Thomas of Herman. Four brothers, Victor King and George King, both of Blair, Harry King of Gilroy, California; and Bob King of Deming, New Mexico; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren also survive her, and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Grace Husk was the organist, Mrs. E.J. DiGiorgio was the vocalist.

Active Pallbearers were Greg Sheets, Floyd Sheets, Jeffery Epperson, Randy Mitchell, Mark Thompson, Scot Thompson, and Craig Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers were Dick Sheets, Don Neal, Jim Hightower, Steve Payne, Don Kelly, Steve Sheets, Mike Schaefer, Jack Blake, and Roger Hearron.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
