Virginia E. Sheets, 77, of Arlington died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Services were Sept. 26 at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Lee J. Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Virginia E. Sheets was born June 22, 1920 in Glenwood, Iowa to Ira and Ruth (Roland) Nuss. She grew up at Pacific Junction, Iowa and was a 1938 graduate of Pacific Junction High School. She lived in Fremont from 1959 to 1963 and then moved to Arlington. Before her marriage to Herald Sheets March 22, 1963 at Blair, she worked for several years at the former Campbell’s Soup Co. in Fremont.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church and had been active in the Arlington Senior Center since 1984.

She is survived by her husband, Herald; two daughters, Sharron De La Cruv of Tucson, Ariz., and Donna (Mrs. Wayned) Boylmeyer of Lincoln; a step-daughter, Georgia (Mrs. John )Frost of Fremont; a step-son, Glen Sheets of Bennington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Merrill and Mary Nuss of Marietta, Ga.; and Hershall and Marjorie Nuss of Santa Fe, N.M.; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and George Hondell of Niceville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerald Nuss and Kenneth Nuss.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
