The funeral for Wilma C. Plugge, 100, of Arlington will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington Community Church in Arlington.

She died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Edgewood Vista in Fremont.

Wilma C. Uterman was born Nov. 7, 1909, in rural Washington County to Henry and Carrie (Schultz) Uterman. She moved to Plainview as a child and was a graduate of Plainview High School. She attended Normal School for her teaching certificate and taught school in the rural Plainview area and in rural Ames. She married Albert Plugge on Jan. 16, 1935, in Fremont; he died Aug. 8, 1991. After her marriage, she lived in rural Arlington until moving into Arlington in 1977. She was a member of Arlington Community Church in Arlington.

Survivors include: a son, Robert “Bob” Plugge of Arlington; a daughter-in-law, Connie Plugge of Plainview; two sisters, Verna Helmsing of Foristell, Mo., and Helena Jensen of Decatur, Ill.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Jack; a grandchild, Ramona Sobczak; three great-grandchildren, Carla Miller, Angela Sobczak and Dominique Broadway; three sisters, Dorothy Plugge, Carrie Rosenbaum and Mildred Butterfield; and a daughter-in-law, Gladys Plugge.

The Rev. Bill Switzer will officiate Tuesday’s service. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the Kennard Cemetery.
