Wilbert M. Jensen, 89, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Monday, April 21, 2014.

Private family services were followed by interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Wilbert M. Jensen was born June 9, 1924, in Bloomfield, to the late Albert and Minnie (Schmoldt) Jensen.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Blair’s utility department.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther Jensen; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Stephen Wright; grandchildren: James Wright and his wife, Trina, and Kelli Zakaras and her husband, Jeffrey; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs was in charge of arrangements.
