Chester Pierson, 85

Recent Blair resident, Chester Pierson, 85, formerly of Estherville, Iowa, died June 16, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha from complications of his heart.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Graveside services will be held on June 21 at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Estherville.

A native of Estherville, Pierson was general manager of John Morrell & Company until his retirement. He was an active member of the community, serving on the Estherville Industrial Development, Emmett Country School Board, and the Estherville City Council.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Stockdale Hansen of Englewood, Fla., three grand-children, Sara Stockdale Christenson of Blair, Jay Stockdale of Lawrence, Kan., and Mira Stockdale of Vail, Colo. and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to benefit Alzheimer’s research.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
