Mrs. Jennie Pilcher Buried In Omaha

Mrs. Jennie Stewart Pilcher died November 24th at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha where she had been hospitalized for over three months.

She was born December 6, 1880 on a farm near Blair and taught in several of the Washington County Schools before her marriage to Mr. Charles L. Pilcher on March 10, 1901. They made their home on a farm in the Cuming City School District in 1925 when they moved to Omaha.

Mr. Pilcher died on July 7, 1944.

Survivors are a daughter, Atha Pilcher of Omaha, two sons, Everett C. Pilcher of Omaha and Robert G. Pilcher of Chicago. Six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a foster-son, Brandt Crocker in the Navy at San Diego. Also a niece and nephew, Mrs. James Collins (Teresa) of Wadsworth, Illinois and Bernard Graham of Portland, Oregon who were raised in the Pilcher home following the death of their mother, a sister of Mrs. Pilcher. Mrs. Pilcher’s brother, Loftin Stewart of Encinitas, California also survives.

Because of her love for children, Mrs. Pilcher was known to many as “Aunt Jennie.”

Funeral services were Saturday, November 28th, at the N.P. Swanson-Kennth-Golden Chapel. The Rev. Ted D. Hurst officiated. Interment was in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
