MRS. MARY A. PILCHER

Mrs. Mary A. Pilcher passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edwin Pilcher, on Thursday, January 30, 1930 at the ripe old age of 85 years, 11 months and 15 days.

She was born in Canberry County, Penn., on February 15, 1844 and with her parents moved to Cuming City, Neb. in 1850.

She was married to Edwin Pilcher in 1862 and to this union twelve children were born, four of whom died in infancy, and two after they reached maturity. Her son, Edward of this place, passing away last March. The mothers, who had made her home with this son continued to lived with the daughter-in-law who gave her every attention and devotedly care for her until the end.

The surviving children are Mrs. Burdette Hancock and Mrs. A. N. Ballard of Blair, Mrs. M. V. Wilson of Herman, Lloyd Pilcher of Albion, Neb. and Chas. L. Pilcher of Omaha.

Deceased has been an invalid for many years and for the past eight years has been totally blind. With it all she was of a cheerful disposition and made the best of her life.

She was a devoted Christian, a loyal member of the Baptist church and in her life lived the part setting and example that was worthy of emulation.

The funeral services were held from the Baptist church at two p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1st with Rev. L. J. Moran officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
