LYNN IVAN DIMMICK, 86

Lynn Ivan Dimmick, 86, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Aug. 30, 2003, at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the chapel at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Lynn Ivan Dimmick was born May 1, 1917, in Omaha to C. Douglas and Ruby Dimmick.

On Sept. 3, 1939, he married Theodora Allen in Logan, Iowa.

Mr. Dimmick was many things to and for many people. Some will remember him as a truck driver, others as a farmer, and still others as a man who would fix things and make things work when no one else could. He invented more than 100 things in his life and, in the process, passed his way of looking at things to many people.

For several years, he served on the school board for Mt. Pleasant School. He was a very interesting person to have as a part of your life. One of the things he loved to do later in his life was to go dancing.

He is survived by his three sons, Lynn A. Dimmick of Ceres, Calif.; Jon E. Dimmick of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Ted L. Dimmick of Colorado Springs; and a daughter, Sheila G. Autry of Whittier, Calif. He was also a grandfather and a great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Teddi.
