#2-Blair Courier 9 Dec 1903

Hugh McNair died at the Methodist hospital in Omaha last Friday. John Lecrone and C. L. Wright, of Kennard, went down and brought the body up here Saturday afternoon, leaving it at Unruh’s undertaking rooms. The funeral was held at the Christian church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. H. Motter officiating. Mr. McNair lived out near the Somers school house for several years and there Mrs. McNair died a few months ago. He had been in the hospital for 79 days and being destitute his expenses were paid by Virginia Camp, NO. 51, W.O.W. of Kennard, of which he had been a member since 1895. The lodge has also kept up the payments on his insurance policy of $2,000, which was made payable to his children, nine in all. Since the eldest child is not yet 17 years of age, John Lecrone has been appointed their guardian.
