Dorothy H. Plumb, 101

Dorothy H. Plumb, 101, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in Panama City, where she was living with a granddaughter.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Dorothy Helen Short was born Nov. 20, 1896, in Blair to Rasmus and Ada (Evans) Short.

She attended the Blair Schools.

She married John Plumb, who preceded her in death.

She moved to York in the 1940s and lived there for many years and made friends through her employment as a sales representative in a clothing store and through membership in many organizations.

She was a member of the Baptist Congregational Church, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 49 year; American Legion Auxiliary, 49 years; and the York Garden Club.

The past three years, she lived with her granddaughter, Carolyn Havranek, in Panama City.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Heinike of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Edgar Short of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, and two daughters.
