Elaine M. Plummer, 83

Elaine M. Plummer, 83, of Tekamah, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services were Tuesday, Nov. 2 at First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah. The Rev. Charity Forbes officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Elaine M. Plummer was born Mar. 12, 1916, to Albert and Katie (Petersen) Petersen in rural Herman. She graduated from Winnebago High School in 1935. She then lived and worked for a family in Omaha.

On June 14, 1941, she married Roy Plummer in Oakland. The couple lived and farmed in Craig and Oakland until moving to Tekamah in 1956. She was a homemaker, baby-sat in her home and worked in the kitchen at the Tekamah Public School.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Keith Swearingin of Fremont; Phyllis and Melvin Schmidt of Craig; and Bonnie and Dan Smith of Tabor, Iowa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Chester Larsen of Fremont; Ruth and Fred Vaca of Omaha; and Mary Alice and Harold Frahm of Hemingford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harland and Shirley Petersen of Herman; and Lloyd and Donna Petersen of Blair; nine grand-children and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Lois.

Memorials are suggested to the Burt County Museum and Methodist Hospital Hospice.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
