Albert Lawrence (Bus) Poell, 71

Albert Laurence (Bus) Poell, 71, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at his home in Fort Calhoun.

Services were Saturday, April 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. Father James Schwertley officiated.

Burial was in Fort Calhoun cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 348 and VFW Post 5637 of Fort Calhoun.

Albert Lawrence Poell was born March 7, 1928, to Albert and Veronica Poell in Marysville, Kan.

He grew up in St. Joe, Mo. and in Omaha, where he graduated from Sacred Heart.

A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he worked as an electrician for the Union Pacific Railroad and in Omaha shops.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Fort Calhoun and a 40-year member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Omaha.

His hobbies included gardening, repairing objects, taking care of his animals, and spending time with his family.

His is survived by his wife; three daughters and one son, Caryn, Mary, Theresa and Larry; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Pakes.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
