C. G. Pollock

C. G. Pollock died at his home in Blair, at 3:30 o’clock Sunday morning, after an illness of about two weeks. Death was caused by a seapage of the blood vessels in the brain causing a paralyetic stroke on Wednesday of last week from which he never rallied.

Mr. Pollock was born at Erie, Pa., February 2, 1835. He was educated for a civil engineer and followed that business for a number of years in Minnesota. While in Minnesota, he met and married Miss Mary G. Lincoln at Medford, May 22, 1861. They afterward made their home at Warren, Pa., for a time, coming to Blair in September, 1885, where they have since resided.

For a number of years he was a bookkeeper for the Crowell Lumber & Grain Co., but for the past few years has spent his declining years in rest.

Mr. Pollock leaves to mourn his demise a wife, one daughter, Mrs. W. I. Doole, of Adams, Nebr., and one son, Robt. L. Pollock, of Minneapolis, Minn., and two brothers, Col. O.W. Pollock, a U.S. army officer, of San Francisco, Calif., and James S. Pollock, of Little Rock, Ark., and one sister, Miss Elizabeth W. Pollock also of Little Rock. His brother James was here with him at the time of his death.

The funeral services were conducted from the Congregational church at 3:30 Tuesday after, being in charge of his pastor, Rev. Geo. McKeith, assisted by Rev. J. Wallace Larkin, of Wahoo, his former pastor; the remains were laid to rest in the Blair cemetery.
