Mrs. C. G. Pollock (Mary Gow Lincoln Pollack)

Mrs. C. G. Pollock died at the home of Mrs. Alta Wainwright. She had been ill since the Saturday before Christmas. She would have been 80 years of age had she lived until May 16th, and death seemed more the result of senile decay than anything else. The time for dissolution seemed to have come and nothing could stop it. She lived but five months and three days after Mr. Pollock’s passing, which occurred August 3rd. A companionship of over fifty years on earth has, after short separation, now been reestablished in the world beyond. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, at the Congregational church, of which she was a devoted member. Rev. J. Wallace Larkin, of Wahoo, Neb., her former pastor, has been sent for to assist the present pastor, Rev. J. M. Kokjer, in the service. Mary Gow Lincoln was born at Hallowell, Me., and was married to C.G. Pollock at Medford, Minn., May 22nd, 1861. They lived at Warren, Pa., for about seventeen years, moving first to Iowa and then to this city in September, 1885, which has been her home ever since. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. W. I. Doole, of Adams, Neb., and one son, Robert L., of Minneapolis, Minn. Also, three sisters, Misses Anna and Emma Lincoln, of Northfield, Minn. and Mrs. Ellen Griffin, of Salt Lake City, Utah. For many years Mrs. Pollock had been unable to walk about much, having been a victim of arthritic rheumatise was possessed of a keen mind and had been a wide reader all her life, taking books from the library regularly up to within a few weeks ago. She had been lonesome and uncomforted since Mr. Pollock’s death and seemed anxious to go and be with him and with the Master she loved and served so faithfully.

MRS. POLLOCK PASSES

Mrs. C. G. Pollock, eighty years of age and for years a resident of Blair, passed away at the home of Mrs. Alta Wainright at an early hour Tuesday morning. The funeral arrangements will not be definitely completed until the arrival of her son from Minneapolis but it is probable that it will be held from the Congregational church Thursday.

Mrs. Pollock, who has been feeble for some time, has been at the home of Mrs. Wainright since the death of Mr. Pollock, a few months ago. She was taken sick just before Christmas and sank steadily till the time of her death.

The deceased was born in Hallowell, Maine, and came to Nebraska with her husband in 1885. Since that time her home has been in Blair. She leaves a son, Robert L. Pollock, of Minneapolis and a daughter, Mrs. W. I. Doole of Adams, Neb. In addition to her children three sisters survive her.
