Charles E. Pool, 81, of Blair, died April 7, 2008, in Blair.

Private services will be held April 12 at the Heim Cemetery in Dawson.

Charles Edward Pool was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Verdon to Robert Hugh and Nancy Emily (Warren) Pool.

He grew up in Verdon and graduated from Verdon High School in 1944. In 1945, he attended the Coyne Electric School in Chicago, Ill., where he graduated as an electrician.

In 1946, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until 1948 in China aboard a naval destroyer. After his service, he worked for Armature Electric in Omaha.

He rejoined the Navy in 1950, serving until 1952 in Korea. After being honorably discharged, he again returned to Omaha where he worked for Schneider Electric and Omaha Electric. He worked for 42 years as an electrician before retiring in 1964. Mr. Pool belonged to the IBEW Union and, at the time of his death, was a master electrician.

He is survived by his sisters, Ann Nix of Ardmore, Okla., Ida Huckleberry of Marion, Ind., and Alma Och of Redding, Calif.; several nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Pool, and a sister, Marjorie Ellen Delong.
