John W. Everhart, 63, of Blair, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at The Ambassador in Omaha.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

John W. Everhart was born March 29, 1951, in Orchard to Marion P. and Catherine (Edwards) Everhart.

He grew up and attended school in Blair.

After his schooling, he was united in marriage to Jonnette Hubel. From this union, the couple’s daughter Barbara was born. They later divorced.

He worked as a farrier until the loss of his leg and, until recently, as an equine dentist. He loved being around horses and made countless friends over the years in the horse industry.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Over the past 20-plus years, he lived in the southern United States, primarily in Oklahoma and Texas.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Benny) Watson of Oklahoma; his mother, Catherine Rose of Blair; brothers: Bob Everhart of Blair and Dick (Sharon) Everhart of Blair; several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Everhart.

Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.
