Gregory C. McNew, 55

Gregory C. McNew, 55, of Fort Calhoun, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, in Omaha.

Funeral services were Jan. 8, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Gregory C. McNew was born Nov. 23, 1953, in Fort Calhoun to Charles and Shirley McNew. He lived in Fort Calhoun from 1953 to 1996, graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in 1972.

He married Janet Byers on Dec. 24, 1996.

He lived in Omaha from 1996 to April of 2008; and most recently resided in rural Fort Calhoun.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Byers) McNew; son, Joshua McNew of Fort Calhoun; stepdaughters and spouses, Noel Cimmino of Kansas City, Mo., Kate and Tom Bayle of Omaha, Becky and Jeff Hall of Arlington; father, Charles McNew of Fort Calhoun; sisters and brother-in-law, LuAnn and Ed Buchardt of Blair, Nancy McNew of Fort Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Lynette McNew of Fort Calhoun; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley.
