Gerald McNichols, 55

Gerald “Jerry” McNichols, 55, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at his home in San Marcos, Calif., after a battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Funeral services will be Nov. 8 in Oceanside, Calif.

Gerald McNichols was born Feb. 12, 1948 to Jack and Helen (Pedersen) McNichols. He graduated from Blair High School and made the U.S. Navy his career.

He is survived by his wife, Lourdetta; three sons, Oliver, at home, Michael of New Jersey, and David, serving in the Navy on the new aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan; mother, Helen McNichols of Blair; a brother, Don of Chicago; two sisters, Linda Vergamini of Lansing, Mich., and Debra Broen of Elkhorn; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, in 1964.
