Died – March 2nd, 1890, Mrs. Mahola McQuarrie, at her home in Washington county, Nebraska, of bronchitis or probably La Grippe.

Mrs. McQuarrie was one of the old settlers, having come to Nebraska at an early day and settled first at Florence. She and her husband then removed to Washington county, and lived on the Missouri river bottom lands generally to the time of her death. She has been quite aged and feeble for some time. She was born in Nova Scotia, and came to this country 34 years ago. She leaves a husband and several grandchildren to mourn her loss. She was 74 years of age. This is the way the mothers go, be good to them while they are with you. Services conducted at the house by Mary A. Hillas, Free Methodist pastor.
