Maxon S. McQuarrie, 98

Maxon S. McQuarrie, 98, passed away at the Blair Hospital on Sept. 28, 1988.

She was born on April 1, 1890 at Lincoln, Nebraska to Henry and Lucy White Sprague. Maxon graduated from UNL with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1913 and later received her Master’s Degree from UNO. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa.

On June 30, 1915, she was untied in marriage to George Charles McQuarrie in Lincoln, Nebraska. She taught school in Herman, Fort Calhoun, Blair and Brownell Hall. She had been a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair.

Maxon is survived by her children, Mary Beth Wright of Omaha; Mrs. Don Magill, Center, Nebraska; Ann (Mrs. R. E. Carlson), Fremont and John E. McQuarrie of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, infant son, one brother and one sister.

Private family graveside services were held in the Blair Cemetery.
