Miss May McQuarrie Died Friday

Serves As Blair City Librarian For 11 Years Retired In 1959

Miss May McQuarrie, 75 years of age, of Blair, died Friday evening at the McBride Nursing Home in Blair following a lingering illness.

Funeral services are being held today Monday, at the Bendorf Funeral Home. Father Sam Eihston ? officiating with interment in Blair Cemetery.

Miss McQuarrie was born March 20, 1885 in Blair and has lived her entire life in Blair. Following graduation from Blair high school she attended a library school. In 1917, she accepted a position as Blair city librarian. She served in that capacity for 44 years, until retiring in June of 1959. During her 44 years as librarian the Blair City Library was located in the city hall for two years. In 1917 the present library was completed.

Miss McQuarrie is survived by a sister, Mrs. Murium? Bousquet ? of Springfield, Massachusetts, three nieces and a nephew.

Pallbearers are John Hansen, John McQuarrie, Henry Wright, Robert Carlson, Carl Schmid; and Everett Lamb.
