GEORGE DIECKMANN

Services were Friday, October 13 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend for George Dieckmann, 94 of North Bend who died October 10, 1989 at Birchwood Manor in North Bend. Rev. William Zastrow officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

George Dieckmann was born May 6, 1895 in the rural North Bend area to John and Catherine Bahr Dieckmann. He farmed in the Cheyenne Wells, Colorado area until the mid 1920’s. From 1936-1940, he farmed near Kennard, Nebraska, moving to the Scribner and North Bend areas where he farmed until he was 84 years of age.

He moved into North Bend in 1960. He had resided at Birchwood Manor since March 1988.

He married Emma Claussen in Fremont on December 28, 1921. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1947.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; a son, Merle; brothers, Claudia, Henry, John and Julius and one sister, Alma Stieneke.

He is survived by one son, Junior Dieckmann, North Bend; one daughter, Valetta (Mrs. Dick) Leftwich of North Bend; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wayne LeGrande, Daryle Dale, Ed Sloup, Leonard Dahlheim, Jim Posey and Bill Lambrecht.

Honorary pallbearers were Bernard Wilkening, Bernard Emanuel, Ed Nesladek, Raymond Racek, Henry Slavik, Nels Jorgensen, Joe Chromy and Joe Kubr.

Todd Mylander was organist. Rev. Will and Margaret Zastrow and Ralph Diffey provided the vocal music.

Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements for the services.
