Ruth H. Dickmeyer, 90, of Fremont, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Nye Legacy in Fremont.

Services are 10:30 a.m . Friday, Jan. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ruth H. Franke was born Oct. 21, 1919, on the family farm near Arlington to William and Hilda (Bierman) Franke. She grew up in the Arlington area, attending St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Brinkman High School.

On June 5, 1938, she married Irwin Dickmeyer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They farmed east of St. Paul’s until moving into Fremont in 1956. Mrs. Dickmeyer then worked for the flower shops in Fremont.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fremont, where she was active with the choir and the quilter’s group, and sewed quilts for World Relief. She also belonged to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and LeRoy Phinney of Fremont; and Dianne and Wilbur Meyer of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Janet Dickmeyer of West Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Petersen of Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin, in 2002; a son, Roger; a brother and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church’s building fund, or to Odyssey Hospice.
