Denny L. Colgan, 78, of Herman, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his home.
A memorial gathering will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Denny L. Colgan was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Tekamah to Timothy and Opal (Elliot) Colgan.
He was raised in Tekamah and attended school there.
After his schooling, he worked with his father as a carpenter and also spent time working on the river. He later became an ironworker working with Iron Workers Local Union 21 until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his children: Susie (Mike) Kelley of Niobrara, Jan Grabbe of Blair, Joe (Deb) Colgan of Watertown, Wis., Tammy (Bruce) Sill of Fort Calhoun, Tim Colgan of Lincoln and Lindsey Colgan of Omaha; grandchildren: Maggie, Erin, Sarah, Andrew, Mary Anna, Corrine (Tim), Megan, Emily, Casey, Daniel and Alec; great-grandchildren: Hannah, Thomas, Cohen, Christian, Miranda, Tyler, Leland, Carley, Jacob, Braden, Lance, Ethan, Trenton, Cole and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Kat Irvin and Tootsie Snow.
