Willis Charles Metz, 72

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 6 at First Christian Church for Willis Charles Metz, who died May 3, 1994 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery with military graveside services.

Willis Charles Metz was born in Trease, Kansas to Rolland and Alta Metz February 9, 1922.

He married Edna Daniels May 10, 1941 at Tekamah.

He entered the military October 6, 1942 and served in World War II in the European Theater until October 1, 1945. He was awarded eight bronze stars.

He was a mechanic and welder, working for Trail Mobile for 11 years and Independent Metal Corp. for 17 years. He retired in 1990 after five years of service for Fremont Sanitation Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; two sons, Rolland James Metz of Blair and Norman LeRoy Metz of Tekamah; a daughter-in-law, Sandra; grandchildren, Dennis Metz of Oakland; Betty Jo Metz, Sheryl Metz and Amy Hansen, all of Blair; Brenda Metz of Tekamah and Cristie Metz Reuling of Arlington; seven great-grandchildren Stefanie Metz and Jacob Metz, both of Oakland; Ethan Reuling, Madelyn Reuling, both of Arlington; Shayla Metz, Tekamah; Baily Metz and Bryer Hansen of Blair; brothers, Raymond Metz, Gene Metz, both of Napa, California and Bob Metz of California and sisters, Mrs. Alean Hicks of Jainesville, Texas and Mrs. Judy Poole of Walnut Creek, California.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
