Mrs. Metzinger Buried In Minnesota

Mrs. Myron (Alice) Metzinger passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hovendick in Davenport, Iowa at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, September 30th.

Mrs. Metzinger and her family lived in Blair for many years.

She was born Alice F. Richards March 19, 1879 in Omaha. She married Myron Metzinger February 14, 1896 in Irvington, Nebraska.

She is survived by seven daughters: Mrs. Paul West, Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Theo Jacobsen, La Porte, Minnesota; Mrs. V. O. Gravatt, Perris, California; Mrs. Carl Hovendick, Davenport, Iowa; Mrs. E. L. Hendershot, Grant’s Pass, Oregon; Mrs. Roy Houle, Pt. Arena, California; and Mrs. Erling Olsen, Schroeder, Minnesota; and one son, Melvin R. Metzinger of Grant’s Pass, Oregon. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren.

Three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Maude Townsend, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Mrs. Sarah Smith, Irvington, Nebraska, and Dr. M. I. Platt, Gering, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5th at Two Harbors, Minnesota and burial was at Crystal Hill Cemetery at Finland, Minnesota.
