FORMER ARLINGTON RESIDENT IS DEAD

Mrs. Charles Potter, Nee Vivian Thompson, Died In Hollywood

Mrs. Rose Thompson of Arlington received word last Thursday of the sudden death in Holly-wood, California, earlier that day of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Potter, the former Miss Vivian Thompson of Arlington. Word of the death came as a shock to Mrs. Thompson, for she had received a letter from Mrs. Potter only a few days before, telling that all members of the family were in good health.

The body arrived in Arlington Monday, and funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Arlington Congregational church.

Mrs. Potter was born on the Thompson farm north of Arlington and received her education in the rural schools and Arlington high school. She went to Hollywood several years ago, was married, and had since lived there.

Surviving Mrs. Potter are her husband, two small sons, Charles, Jr. and Jimmie; her mother, Mrs. Rose Thompson, Arlington; two brothers, Leonard and Lawrence Thompson of Arlington; a twin brother, Vernon Thompson, of Fulton, Missouri; and one sister, Miss Edna Thompson of New York City.

FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. POTTER, 25

Former Arlington Woman Died In Hospital At Los Angeles

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles A. Potter, 25, of Hollywood, California, a former Arlington resident, were held last Tuesday at the Congregational church in Arlington, the Rev. H.C. VanValkenburgh in charge. Mrs. Potter, the former Vivian Thompson of Arlington, died in a Los Angeles hospital October 28. A large throng of relatives and friends attended the last rites.

Hyman were sung by a quartet, Wayne Plugge, Harold Walkenhorst, Mrs. P.L. Cady and Mrs. Howard Marshall with Mrs. Alice Newcom at the organ. Pallbearers were, Harry and Leonard Wulf, Ewald Dunklau, Martin Hilgenkamp, Paul and Walter Giesselman. Burial was in the Arlington cemetery.

Mrs. Potter was born near Arlington March 20, 1912, and grew to womanhood there. She was married to Mr. Potter, resident of New Haven, Connecticut, on February 10, 1934, and they moved to California. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Rose Thompson of Arlington, Mr. Potter and two young sons, two brothers and a sister.

Among those from out of town at the funeral in Arlington were her sister, Miss Edna Thompson, of New York city; her twin brother, Vernon Thompson and wife of Fulton, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Loren Masters and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Masters of Blair; Mrs. Silas Miller and Miss Dorothy Miller of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moravec and Miss Clara Kuger of Genoa; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Nelson of Blair; Mr. and Mrs. William Loosing and daughter, Miss Mildred, of Fremont; and Mrs. P. J. Christiansen of Bennington.
