Anita Potts, 88

Anita Potts, 88, of Hastings, died April 1, 2004, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, April 5, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Blue Hill (Neb.) Cemetery.

Anita Potts was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Adams County, near Blue Hill, to Edward H. Walter Jr. and Anna Caroline Louise Sommerfeld Meyer. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Blue Hill High School.

On Dec. 2, 1934, she married Gerald Ernest Potts. The couple farmed in the Blue Hill area before moving to Hastings.

Mrs. Potts was a homemaker and was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrel R. and Cathy Potts of Arlington; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Donald (Edna) Burge of Alma, and Mrs. Elva (June) Jacobitz of Blue Hill; and brothers, Orville Meyer of Blue Hill and Gerhardt Meyer of Bladen.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Herbert Meyer; and one sister, Delores Meyer.

Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church.
