Darrel R. Potts, 63

Darrel R. Potts, 63, of Arlington, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.

Funeral services were April 8, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Interment was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Darrel R. Potts was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Pottsdam, in Webster County, to Gerald and Anita (Meyer) Potts. He grew up in rural Blue Hill and moved to Hastings in 1956. He was a 1959 graduate of Hastings High School.

He moved to Omaha in the mid 1960s and was employed by the Eaton Corporation (formerly Vickers Inc.) for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

On Sept. 13, 1991, he married Catherine E. Cook in Tekamah.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; four sons and their families, Michael E. Potts of Lakeland, Fla., Kenneth and Dionne Potts of Apopka, Fla., Bryan and Shelly Potts of Orlando, Fla., and Douglas Potts and his fiancée, Andrea Spreen of Craig; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra Ferguson of Orlando, Fla., and Michelle and Ilio Dotto of Sorrento, Fla., and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter, Jaime Morehouse.
