John Poucher

John Poucher, 71, of Alturas, California, and formerly of Tekamah, died in Alturas on Saturday, May 30, 1987 after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 26, 1915 at Tekamah to Willliam T. and Dorothy L. (Mason) Poucher. He was married to Helen Johnston in 1938. Poucher was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The couple moved from Tekamah in 1945. He was a member of the Federated Community Church of Alturas.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Poucher of Alturas, California; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Michael) Parkinson of Salem, Oregon, and Patty (Mrs. Rory) VanTuyl of Santa Rosa, California; one sister, Lucy Anne Poucher of Ashland, Oregon; and four grandchildren.

A cremation committal will be held at the Tekamah Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were made by Hamel & Peck Funeral Home of Tekamah.
