Dorothy M. Metzler, 91

Dorothy M. Metzler, 91, of Blair, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Visitation will start at 1 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Dorothy M. Sheets was born on March 29, 1918, in Herman to Dan and Lucy (Kimble) Sheets.

She was united in marriage to Roy Metzler.

Mrs. Metzler was a lifelong resident of the Herman and Blair area.

She was past president of the Blair Eagles and a member of the Rebecca Lodge. A special joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, knitting, camping, boating, fishing and, most of all, dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Lydia of Wayne; daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Charles Eriksen of San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Delbert; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
