Lynard E. Grant, 84, of Blair, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Chapel in Blair.
Lynard Everett Grant was born in Nowata, Okla., on July 17, 1929, to John and Nellie May (Murphy) Grant. He was the youngest of four children.
When he was 4years old, his parents divorced and his two sisters moved to Omaha with their mother. His brother lived with grandmother Mary Grantin Nowata. Lynard stayed with his father.
When Lynard was 14, he moved to Omaha and joined his mother and his siblings.
On Dec. 26, 1948, he was united in marriage to Elaine Hugins in Omaha.
He was a member of the Eagles and was in several bowling leagues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved music of all kinds, especially western and classical.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Grant; two daughters: Vickie (John) Fisher of Mechanicsville, Va., and Elizabeth Lynch of Blair; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Pauline Carrier and Imo Jean Cherry; daughter Debby Kay Grant; and sons: Jody Allen Grant and Lynard John Grant.
Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community.
