Margaret E. Metzler, 94, of Blair, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services were Monday, June 18, at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Margaret E. Gutschow was born May 23, 1913, in Blair to Chris and Marie (Nielsen) Gutschow.

She lived most of her life in the Blair area. Mrs. Metzler had worked at Wilkinson Manufacturing in Fort Calhoun.

She loved to cook, bake, sew and do jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed roses.

She is survived by her sisters, Erna Engelke of Blair, Catherine Giesselmann of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kay Gutschow of Fremont; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, and great-great-nieces and –nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; an infant son; sisters, Jennie Larson, Beulah Johnson; and brothers, Bill and Fred Gutschow.

Memorials are suggested to the Blair Rescue Squad, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, or the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin 10:00 A.M. Sunday.
