Delbert C. Meyer, 56

Delbert C. Meyer, 56, died on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1988, from injuries received in a two car accident east of Fremont on Highway 30.

Delbert was born on May 5, 1932, in Eustis, Ne. He was raised at Elwood, ne. and attended the Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha.

On May 19, 1957, Delbert was united in marriage to Shirley Barton in Blair and the couple lived in rural Arlington after their marriage. Delbert was employed as a carpenter at Disbrow Co. in Omaha until 1981. Since 1981 he has been a courier for Fremont Computer Services.

Delbert was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church the Omaha Club for the Deaf, the Nebraska Association for the Deaf and fraternal Order of the Deaf.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Arlington; a son, Charles Meyer of Lincoln; a daughter, Cheryl (Mrs. Wayne) Knoell of Fremont; one brother, Kenneth L. Meyer of Omaha; a sister, Evelyn (Mrs. Dale) Hall of Riverdale, Ne.; and three grandchildren.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Angel (Puls) Meyer and a son Mark.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Fremont Alliance Church. The Rev. Eddie Masters officiated and burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dennis Wolf, Don Jeck, La Verne Hayes, Delbert Boese, Leonard Eggleston and Lawrence Schultz. The organist was Jo Ann Masters and the soloist was Melvin Misfeldt.

An interpretation for the deaf was provided by LaVerne Evans and Phyllis Brabec.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington.
