Donald L. Meyer Jr., 56, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at his home in Herman.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at the Herman Legion Hall.

Donald L. “Donnie” Meyer Jr. was born on June 18, 1953, in O’Neill to Donald and Reta (DeLong) Meyer. He attended the Herman and Tekamah Schools.

He married Nancy Heisner on July 20, 1996, in Herman.

He operated Meyer’s Welding and Repair for 35 years. He also worked for the Village of Herman.

He had been a member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Department since 1976.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, being on the river, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by wife, Nancy, children; Tonya and Barry Paschall, Terra Braniff, Josh and Kelli Thayer, Cassy and Phil Mederiros, Christina and Luke Connealy, Jeremy and Crystal Coburn, Justin and Jenny Meyer, Jerad and Khrystyna Meyer; 22 grandchildren; parents, Dona and Reta Meyer; brothers and sisters, Shari Widener, Rita and Joe Harris, Melanie and Dick Pickell, and Merle and LeAnn Meyer.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alonna Moore.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
