Dorothy Meyer, 73

Dorothy Sarah Meyer, 73, of Wisner, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998 at the Wisner Manor.

Services were Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. Rev. Al Baglien officiated. Burial was in the Wisner Cemetery.

Mrs. Meyer was born Aug. 16, 1924, at Pender, Neb., to Thomas and Elizabeth (Berner) Mayberry. She was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Pender and was confirmed later at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Neb. She attended school in Pender and graduated from Pender High School. On Dec. 30, 1949, she married Robert Meyer at Elk Point, S.D. After their marriage, she was a café owner in Pender before moving to Wisner in 1975. She then owned a café in Wisner for over 30 years. She later worked for nine years with her daughter at the Wisner Cleaners in Wisner.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner.

Survivors are her husband, Robert, Wisner; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Trudy Nilges of Blair and Barry and Roxanne Meyer of Wisner; a daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Jeff Rabe of Wisner; nine grandchildren, Brenda Stewart, Jeff Nilges, Kandi Sanger, Brandi Hass, Kiley Meyer, Kasey Meyer; Tara Rabe, Tasha Rabe and Tiffany Rabe; three great-grandchildren, Tarron Stewart, Jersshaun Stewart and Kyan Hass.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers were Jeff Rabe, Kiley Meyer, Hensley Stewart, Aaron Hass, Jeffery Nilges, Shawn Sanger and Dave Taylor.
