Services For Edward Meyer Were June 21

Services for 80 year old Edward Meyer were held on Saturday, June 24, at Wayne, Nebraska. Mr. Meyer died on June 21 at Wayne.

Edward C. Meyer, son of Henry and Louise Oehlerking Meyer, was born July 26, 1897 at Wayne, Nebraska. He grew up in Dixon County, Nebraska and attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School.

On March 10, 1920, he married Clara Echtenkamp at Arlington, Nebraska. The couple farmed in Dixon County until moving into Wayne in November of 1977.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and held various offices in the church and school.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers and one grandchild. Survivors include his widow, Clara of Wayne, Nebr.; one son, Melvin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Elna) Splittgerber of Marshalltown, Ia.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Duaine Jacobsen, Gary Nelson, Oscar Gemelke, Don Laaker, Gary Krallman and Donald Echtenkamp.
