MRS. POULSON PASSES AWAY

The death of Mrs. Neils Poulson occurred last Tuesday morning at 6:45 o’clock at the home of her son, Chris L. Poulson, in this city.

Deceased was a native of Denmark, born at Hellum, May 17, 1831. Her maiden name was Ane Kerstine Sorensen and she was married in her native country to Neils Poulson Nov. 27, 1858, coming to this country with her husband and direct to Omaha, arriving there May 17, 1870, where they resided until the spring of 1874 when they came to Washington county and located west of Orum, on land which they occupied until the death of her husband, on Sept. 16, 1914, when she went to make her home with her son, Chris, just across the road from her own home, coming to Blair with the family when they moved here last May.

Another son, half-brother to Chris, Soren Olsen, lives on a farm near Walnut, Iowa, and when apprised that his mother was dangerously ill came over on Tuesday of last week, accompanied by his entire family, his wife and four daughters, remaining here until three-fourths of an hour before her death, when Mr. Olsen had a desperate attack of heart trouble, to which he is subject, and was hastened to Omaha by his wife and daughters to secure treatment from a physician, who has ministered to his ailment for some time, and was in such a precarious condition that they were unable to return to the funeral.

Mrs. Poulson was the best known and best loved woman in the community in which she lived, was a good Samaritan in sickness and adversity, as was evidenced by the outpouring from the country for miles around in attendance at the funeral at the church at Orum, where she had worshipped since its erection.

Funeral service was held at the home in this city, Rev. A.M. Andersen preaching the funeral discourse in the English language, at the close the remains were taken to the church near Orum, where N.P. Lang preached a sermon in the Danish language, interment being by the side of her husband in the cemetery at the Orum church.
