Orum Man Fatally Stricken in Field Monday; Funeral In Blair Today

N. Martin Poulson, 63, who lived at Orum, suffered a fatal heart attack Monday while operating a tractor in a field near there. He went to a shaded place, and a doctor and ambulance were summoned, but he died before he could be aided.

The body was brought to the Bendorf Funeral Home where rites are being conducted at 2 p.m. today (Thursday). The Rev. H.C. Jorgensen of First Lutheran Church will officiate, and burial will be in Orum Cemetery.

Mr. Poulson was born Nov. 30, 1885. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He and Christina Block were married Apr. 11, 1920 at Grand Island. She died Nov. 24, 1934.

N. Martin Poulson, farmer living about eight miles west of Blair, was found dead of a heart attack on June 6th. He was a native of this county, the son of the late Chris Paulson. He was born Nov. 30, 1885 and would have been 64 years of age at his next birthday. He was married April 11, 1920 to Christina Black at Grand Island, and to them one son was born. The wife died on November 24th, 1934. And the son grew to manhood and is married and living in Fremont. For some time Mr. Poulson lived alone on his farm.

His brother-in-law, John Fick, found him in the field in an unconscious state and upon examination he was pronounced dead.

He is survived by his son, Neal of Fremont, and one grandson. One brother, Carl of Omaha and one sister, Christine Fick of Blair.

Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating, and burial will be made in the Orum cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Poulson are one son, Neal M. Poulson of Fremont; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Neal Poulson; a grandson, Michael Poulson; one sister, Mrs. William Fick (Christine) of Blair; and a brother, Carl Poulson, Omaha.

Preceding him in death besides his wife were two brothers, Soren and Nels and a sister Christine.
