Edith May Potter, 87

Services for Edith May Potter, 87 who died December 29, 1993 at Tekamah, Nebraska were Monday, January 3 at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah. Rev. Charles A. Bailey officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Edith May Longwell Potter was born March 29, 1906 at Craig, Nebraska.

In the 1960s she worked for Campbell Soup, driving 60 miles round trip every day. In 1969, she and her husband Ben moved from the family farm to Tekamah where she lived until entering Crowell Memorial Home in August, 1992 after a lengthy illness.

She was active at the Golden Age Center and later the Chatt Center in Tekamah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben on March 30, 1971; her parents; two daughters; two sisters, three step-sisters; three brothers and one step-brother.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Evelyn Potter of Camden Point, Missouri and John and Judy Potter of Tekamah; two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Vahling of Dacomo, Colorado and Lila and William Rosanbalm of Independence, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 27 grear-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Robert Marsh, Jason Potter, Brent Shouse, Ronnie Potter, Wayne Potter and Christopher Clark.

Gertrude Sells was organist. Genelle Clements was soloist.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
